Mariko Dozono

Born in Kagoshima, Japan. She started jewelry design while studying graphic design at the art school in Tokyo. She moved to USA in 1971, and studied at the Jewelry Academy at the New School in New York. She designed and produced for Gucci and George Jansen (US and Canada).

 

She started painting when she was 8 years old. She works in painting using oil pastels overlaid Kanazawa’s gold leaf and oil paintings. “COLOR PASSION ELEGANCE” is what makes up Ms. Dozono’s art concept, her lifestyle, from the brilliant colors the pastel & gold leaves gather, oil paintings overflowing from the canvas full of passion to the delicate and elegant jewelry.

She held a solo exhibition at Nishi Azabu, Tokyo, from 2004 to 2016, among other exhibitions in New York, Geneva, and Taipei. The solo exhibition held at the Ginza Mitsukoshi Gallery since 2017 had a great success and held for three consecutive years. She also held another solo exhibition at Nippon Club, New York since 2018.
