Jessica Luna (Italy)

Jessica got her start in the industry working as an illustrator for Japanese music videos in collaboration with the 3D artist Nao Sakamoto, for clients such as Avex's U-KISS jpop band. Independently, she has worked as a designer and illustrator for the cosplay celebrity Yuriko Tiger for logo design and merchandise. Since then, she has transitioned to being a full-time artist for the upcoming Italian indie game "SeaRing" and works as the in-house artist for the local apparel brand Sukeban.NYC. Her entry in Sukeban.NYC has allowed her to work on various product designs with renowned artists such as Ilya Kuvshinov and Acky Bright, as well as the video game Guilty Gear Strive. She has 121K Instagram followers.

She has always consumed Japanese anime and manga since she was young. She grew up with “Sailor Moon”, “Cardcaptor Sakura”, "Ojamajo Doremi”, “Urusei Yatsura”, “Pokémon”, “Digimon”, and so on. When she became an artist (around 2017), at first she was mainly inspired by media such as Satoshi Kon's movies, Mamoru Hosoda’s works, “Neon Genesis Evangelion”, “Nana”, and so on. Since then, she has combined these two sides of herself into her own character design and illustration work.

Since her childhood, she has been reading "Sailor Moon" (Naoko Takeuchi, "Nakayoshi" Kodansha, 1992-1997), "Card Captor Sakura" (CLAMP, "Nakayoshi" Kodansha, 1996-2000), "Ojamajo Doremi" (Izumi Todo, Toei Animation, Kodansha, 1999-), “Urusei Yatsura” (Rumiko Takahashi, Weekly Shonen Sunday, Shogakukan, 1978-1987), Pokemon (Satoshi Tajiri, Nintendo, Pokemon Inc., 2000-), Digimon Adventure (Akiyoshi Hongo, Toei Animation, Fuji TV, Yomiko Advertising, Shueisha). When she started working as an artist around 2017, she was influenced by Satoshi Kon's films, Mamoru Hosoda's anime works, "Neon Genesis Evangelion" (GAINAX, Color, Hideaki Anno, Project Eva, TV Tokyo, 1995 -1996), and "NANA" (Ai Yazawa, "Cookie", Shueisha, 2000-2009).
