Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1972. In 1995, studied under the founder of Katsurahina, the first generation Katsurahina Kio, and his grandfather, the second generation Kosahata Kishi. In 1996, he succeeded the name of the third generation Katsurahina Kio. In 2015, he obtained recognition for his techniques as an Intangible Cultural Property of Shirosato Town.
Public Works
From 2015 to 2016, he created Hina dolls inspired by travels to Estonia and Belgium, commissioned by the embassies of these countries to commemorate the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations. These works are now part of the embassies' collections. In 2020, he created the "Kyoto Jūban Prince 'Authentic Yuki Tsumugi: Green Mountain'" doll, which was presented to the Emperor of Japan.
Solo Exhibitions
In 2010, held the "Katsurahina Hina Doll Exhibition" at Joyo Shiryokan. In 2019, exhibited Hina dolls and Kasane Frames at the Château de Chamarande in Essonne, France.
Awards
From 2006 to 2009, he won the Ibaraki Prefecture Design Selection for four consecutive years. In 2014, he received official recognition from the Wallonia-Brussels Tourism Board in Belgium. In 2019, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award at the Traditional Craft Industry Promotion Association's Traditional Craft Industry Awards.

He conducts Katsurahina doll-making workshops at the yu-soku gallery (atelier).
