It was an era of increasing admiration for Western-style living and fashion. Barbie (early Barbies were manufactured in Japan), Tammy, Tammy's sister Pepper, The World of Love "Soul" (1960's with Afro Hair and flares), Penny Brite (an American child-like doll) were among them.
