In the Art Nouveau period (1890 – 1910), trees and leaves were often colored with various green colors in the natural world, such as yellowish-green, bright green, and greyish green. In the Art Deco period of the 1920s and ’30s, leaves and stems were often colored in only a single unshaded, brilliant green that may not exist in the natural world. Since the design of this coffee set is said to have only been intended for use on high-quality china destined for Great Britain, pieces like this are tough to come by today.
