Bonsai, the artificial miniature reproduction of nature, is an international visual art that originated in Japan. This painting is from a series of landscape paintings depicting Italian landscapes and buildings placed on flowerpots. In this work, the hedges in the garden are trimmed in the shape of the symbols of the twelve constellations, and the ground is decorated with spheres that resemble the solar system.
