Unsigned, 18th century

Like pines, mandarin oranges are evergreen and have a meaning of eternity. In Kojiki, it says Emperor Suinin ordered an elixir of immortality from utopia. That is believed to be the mandarine orange which are planted in Kyoto Imperial Palace.
