This year’s event, "Celebrating Japanese Artworks and Artists: 10 Years with The Nippon Club,” marks the tenth anniversary of this collaborative vetted exhibition, the longest running of any such event for Asia Week.  High-quality objects by accomplished and notable artists of cloisonné enamels, metalwork, ceramics, art lacquer, painting, basketry, carving, and textiles will be on view.
Imperial Court Artists are significantly included.
The show will focus on artworks with the Japanese concept of kinen (anniversary and commemoration).  Objects that depict special celebratory events and ritualistic occasions will be included.  Artists who have won awards at international expositions and World Fairs from the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa Periods will be featured.
